To deliver services to customers which enrich their understanding of others and the environment by providing quality travel and accommodation experiences.
Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Smylies enforces these commitments thru utilising the triple bottom line reporting, which considers the social, environmental and economic performance of the Business and implement the foundations into Smylies Tours.
• Commitment to a work environment which respects and supports staff.
• Providing travel and tour experiences which encourage interpersonal, educational and cross-cultural experiences.
• Participating in local communities so that Smylies Tours contribute to the social fabric of those communities.
• Maintain environmental practices which limit impact on the environment.
• Develop and maintain fleet as efficient and environmental as possible.
• Embracing the values of sustainability in making financial decisions.
• Committing resources and finance in support of triple bottom line activity and projects.
Smylies seeks to encourage awareness and good practice among its customers, so enabling the Company to play its part in environmental conservation.
In order to enable execution of this objective, Smylies has addressed seven basic areas which constitute the foundation of its environmental policy:
Management and purchasing policies to avoid and minimise waste, facilitate recycling and minimise the use of materials harmful to the environment will be adopted.
Smylies will commit themselves to the use of recycled or part recycled products wherever feasible. They will also commit to recycling as many resources as possible, such as paper, glass, metal, plastic and organic materials, and develop the necessary changes in operations to implement comprehensive recycling practices. Where there are no available recycling Facilities, emphasis will be placed on avoiding and minimising waste.
Smylies will use reasonable means, including assistance from local authorities and other agencies, to minimise pollution. As the largest single source of pollution from the operation of vehicles is exhaust emissions, pollution will be minimised through the use of efficient and environmentally acceptable methods of emissions reduction.
Smylies Tours will monitor energy consumption and seek to minimise energy usage in its offices. Smylies Tours will seek to encourage use of renewable energy resources and promote projects to this end where possible.
Smylies Tours will either source their own or thru its partners fleet the most suitable vehicle for the group size. ensuring the lowest possible GVM or GCM and encourage clients to embrace this vision. in simple terms it means lets use a 22 seater for 20 passengers instead of a 45 seater. keep upgrading fleet to Add Blue and DPF and head towards Euro 6 for whole fleet .
Smylies will be supportive of the formation of nature reserves, national parks, and other specially designated areas to provide both wildlife habitats and for public recreation.
Activities and displays promoting the importance of adopting environmental practices, changing personal habits, and emphasising the individual’s ability to influence change positively will be a featured part of the Smylies experience.
